Larchmont entries now equal the number of SoCal entries.  This is your big chance West Coast -- I'm sure lots of people will be signing up in the next couple of weeks, and we'll get word out in the next newsletter and on the Facebook page right now.

24 teams signed up already.  The first 4-boat Viper trailer is fully booked to go to Long Beach for the NAs Sept. 3-6.  There's been some talk about a second trailer, how much it would cost per boat, etc.  We were able to get a second driver to agree to the same rate that we got on the first 4-boat trailer, and can do another 4-6 Vipers for $3500/boat round trip from the NYC area to Long Beach and back.  If that sounds like a lot, if you were to do the drive yourself, it's at least $1200 in gas, not counting food and lodging along the way, plus at least 5700 towing miles on your car and trailer and the wear-and-tear that goes with that, plus at least 6 days of driving if you had multiple drivers going straight through, and probably more like 8-10 days of driving round trip with 2 or fewer drivers.

If you're interested in being on the second truck, please let me know -- spots may go quickly and there are already a few people interested.  These events take planning, and we'd have to book the truck early to ensure that we have space, and other people want to book flights, housing, etc.

Great deal on the trailer.  It was $,1200 in fuel EACH WAY to Marblehead from here in 2012.

Did it in 3 days though, NON STOP!

Wow, impressive! 3 trailers? Peter and crew are going to set a new precedence for now and years going forward...no excuses for not getting yourself there. I guess we better start planning for 2015 Larchmont.

Corporate sponsor to advertise on the trailers as they bomb across the country to the promise land?

Don't know if we'll get to 3 trailers -- 2 large trailers is a good start and we'll see what happens from there.  On the sponsorship end, if there was a company that wanted to defray transport costs by having a rolling advertisement go 5700+ miles round trip with its name, logo or other message, we'd be willing to talk to them if someone had a good contact, but it's not something we've explored to date.

Now up to 28 entries for NAs, glad to see a few more west coast teams signing up.  The way to get more east coast teams is to get more west coast teams.  Of course, if the Aussies were able to get their 4-boat container together, that would be really motivating for everyone.

What Timbo would probably really want right now apart from more entries is someone with a good connection with a beer distributor to have free kegs at NAs.  Viper sailors are thirsty and fairly loyal if there's anyone out there who wants to donate 10-12 kegs or so...

We at Rondar have expended a ridiculous amount of time and effort on researching cross-country Viper transportation options. $3500 round trip is a SCREAMING good deal. We normally pay about that much for a two-boat trailer going one way, FYI.

Speaking of two-boat trailers, we have two double trailer kits available for rent or purchase. Can be shipped on a pallet via motor freight very affordably to anywhere in the US to help get you there. We've proven their effectiveness and durability on multiple cross-country deliveries. Requires two 2nd generation (current) Rondar trailers. Email me for details if you're interested.
Race it like you stole it.

4 paid spots still open on the jib raffle.  33 entries so far, 4 months to go.
