And Canadian Yachting . Gotta take care of the canadians.

On a serious note. If anyone has ideas or suggestions about where and how we should be promoting the class and our events, please let me know. We would like to see this and other ads out there in as many relevant places as we can.

Seahorse

Last time I was in RORC, a couple of blokes with handle bar mustaches were talking about the Contessa 26 being a sporty little thing.
I'm open to it if you really think it reaches our demographic.

Cummon Viperers.....get creative! How can we reach out to the people who should be buying Vipers. What about high school and college sailing programs, where kids bored with crewing on dad's Slonar can start to lean on him to buy a Viper. What about the sailor who sails a 4 ksb but drives a Porsche, how can we help her/him rectify that anomaly? How about women sailors who should be kicking butt in the Viper?

We've got some money. We've got a great class.  We're on a roll. We should be reaching out further than the SA.  Lets get the word out

I'm open to all kinds of help and ideas on this promotion. Let me hear you.

You obviously haven't read Seahorse recently. It is a hard core racing mag. The RORC members are a small percentage of thier readership. If you like racing and you want a magazine to read buy this. Sailing World is a snore fest. I haven't bought that junk in 5 years.

in the UK there used to be a publication "Yachts & Yachting"???, it seemed more small boat focused than "Seahorse" which is a great big boat rag..

A great big rag about boats or a great rag about big boats?

But it is the only real international magazine.

You never find Yachts and Yachting at you local west marine but you do Seahorse. I have never seen Snoring World at Aqua Togs either.

It does have a big boat focus but if it it is fast and furious they will cover it. Remember it is produced by the Royal OCEAN Racing Club so of course it will have an offshore focus. Never seen a dinghy sailor say nah that mag has no interest for me.

Justin it may be worthwhile talking to them about doing an article on the "Roaring twenties" phenomenon.

I must say I do enjoy the current iteration of Sailing World, and I find it a worthwhile read. Maybe I'm biased since two of the writers sail at my club, Dave Powilson and Andy Horton. They have a lot more small boat stuff than they used to, and the class should thank them for the Viper 640 cover story a few months back!

Cheers,

jason
