For those looking ahead to the spring and summer, Cedar Point YC will be hosting the 2013 New England Championship June 1 & 2.  This is a relatively new multi-class regatta that seems to have a good party with it and is growing rapidly.  Cedar Point is located in Westport, CT - Western LIS, but a bit closer to eastern CT and Newport for our friends in that part of the woods.  There's talk from a couple of members around there of getting a fleet going at CPYC, which is a great club with a strong one design tradition.  Tons of drysail storage and hoists for this one.  Anyone sailing at Larchmont the weekend before for Memorial Day, we're considering doing a "Viper rally" from Larchmont to Cedar Point (22 miles) on Memorial Day Monday if conditions allow -- that time of year we could end up with a 12-20 kt SWer in the afternoon, which would make for quite the broad reach to CPYC if conditions cooperate and if you have a member of the shore team to drive your trailer up.   Online registration is open at http://www.yachtscoring.com/emenu.cfm?eID=768

FYI, 8 Vipers signed up for this already, expecting 25-30 on the starting line given the number of Vipers living in Western Long Island Sound these days, not counting the other boats in Eastern CT, Newport, Marblehead and beyond.  It's a multi-class regatta, but I'm expecting the Vipers to be the largest fleet by far, and the event chairman has already signed up in the Rondar works boat, so we should get the royal treatment.

I am going to try very hard to be there.  I'm going to miss Newport, NOODs, and HPDO this year due to weddings.

On another note entirely.... I 'm might have a boat available for charter for Newport, NOODs, and HPDO. :)

Now up to 20 boats, and this is officially a Northeast Circuit regatta for 2013.  Expecting 30+ on the starting line.  Would love to have 30+ signed up for this one by the end of April to see if we have an outside chance of pushing this one to 40 or more.

Now up to 27 Vipers.  What are all you folks in the northeast waiting for?  Canadians: you're welcome too.

We've hit the 30-boat mark for this one...any other stragglers?  If you're not from New England, you're still welcome to participate if you enjoy sailing against 30+ Vipers...
