Just got the word from our Yachting Committee that we are keeping Viper ACCs at Larchmont July 11-12 for the first weekend of Larchmont Race Week as scheduled and the regatta will be run. First Viper regatta anywhere in North America (if not globally) since Bacardi Cup in March.
There may not be much, if anything, in the way of social events this year ashore post racing, we're not offering to find housing or crews (though there's no shortage of local hotel rooms with vacancies), and we may have to wear masks in the drysail area, but the drysail area will be newly paved and graded with less of an incline, and we'll have a good RC who will be excited to host racing for the Class. And it's racing, and maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised with a keg or some outdoor dining at area restaurants.
There is no NOR / SIs yet and registration isn't open, so consider this your notice that the regatta is happening and please forward to your respective fleets. Please give me an indication as soon as you can as to who is interested in attending. I suspect we'll have at least a dozen boats, which is a dozen more Vipers than have been on a starting line anywhere else in the past 4 months, so hopefully folks will be able to make it. This will also give us something to look forward to, esp. for areas that don't have local racing available right now, and we otherwise won't have to deal with a very compressed fall schedule potentially with a bunch of rescheduled events.
FYI, I realize that registration is not yet open, but at least 3 teams from outside LYC have confirmed to me that they plan to attend - just email me to let me know if you'll be there and I will post when registration is open - it's all still happening otherwise.
