The Viper Class has been invited to participate in the 2009 Red Grant Regatta hosted by our local YC - Raritan Yacht Club, see the general invitation below. We are guaranteed a one design start if we can get 8 boats participating.

Please let Chris or I know if you are interested and we can help with storage, lodging, etc.

This event is one week before the Marblehead NOODs, so it would be a great stop over point for anyone traveling in from out of town, or Long Island boats that want a bit of a warm up.

Did I mention that it's a heck of a lot of fun (both for racing and partying)!

I can be reached at [email protected] or Chris can be reached at [email protected]

Happy New Year from the Red Grant Regatta!

Now that you have your 2009 calendar hung on the wall, please save the weekend of July 18th & 19th for the 63rd Annual Red Grant Regatta hosted by the Raritan Yacht Club in Perth Amboy, NJ .  We moved the date ahead a week compared to previous years to ensure the tides were right for traveling boats needing the hoists?Check out our ?09 Red Grant Web Commercial. (http://client.imprev.net/83/17983/191907/191907.swf)

Last year?s regatta was one for the record books with 63 juniors and 85 PHRF, One Design and Cruisers participating.  Red Grant continues to grow when many other regattas throughout the US are struggling.  Just look at the chart comparing area 2008 regattas?the numbers don?t lie. (http://www.gillooly.com/RedGrant/Chart.JPG)

2009 Red Grant promises to be even bigger; we anticipate growing the handicapped fleets as well as the J80, J105 and J109 fleets.  We also have interest from the B36.7 class as well as the J30 class and Viper 640s.  The biggest OD news is that Red Grant will be part of the ?09 J24 Parkway Series; we are excited to host the Parkway Series racers and look forward to providing excellent racing and partying for all.

We encourage you to register online today (http://www.gillooly.com/RedGrant/registrationform.htm) to build momentum early. Many of you know you are going to race, so just spend a few minutes now, click on the link above, register and pay online and save some $$ now instead of paying the full price later.
