This time last year, Seawanhaka Corinthian YC (Oyster Bay, NY - Long Island, roughly across Long Island Sound from Stamford) had zero Vipers.  Now they have 7 Vipers (40, 82, 167, 182, 226, 231 and 248) with enthusiastic new owners and a historic clubhouse and venue that needs to be seen (the trophy case along is worth the trip with its 4 Olympic medals, one of which has an amazing story, which the Rear Commodore will be happy to tell you in person).

They're hosting their first ever Viper regatta this August.  The NOR and registration are now open at https://yachtscoring.com/emenu.cfm?eid=15360 - entry fee is very reasonable and they'll even give some food and drink to go along with it.  Friendly group.  Quirky spot.  Team Great Scott! will definitely be there - the rest of the Seawanhaka fleet will be signing up shortly, and when combined with some Noroton and Larchmont entries, I guarantee there will be at least 12 Vipers on the line, and hopefully more like 15-20.

It was a tough weather forecast for the NE US - we ended up with one very light air race on Saturday, but a patient RC got us on the water in time on Sunday for the breeze to build to 8-12 knots and get in 2 very good races to have a solid event. The hospitality was top notch, along with a good debrief and tour of the grounds, with minimal wedding crashing by the fleet.  We'll be back in 2023 - the Seawanhaka fleet now has 8 Vipers and there are prospects kicking the tires on additional boats.  All good.
