Title: Mid-Atlantic Championship series
Post by: Michael Gravitt on December 08, 2013, 02:10:07 PM
Viper owners in the Mid-Atlantic are preparing to start a Mid-Atlantic Championship series.  At present we are planning to have a six race series with two races being in the Annapolis area, two in Hampton, and two being in North Carolina.  If we can get enough boats for additional starts at other regattas, maybe we can offer bonus points for boats participating in those races. This is all in the works so we can discuss the possibility of extending the area to NJ if there is interest from that area to come down and vice versa.  Please send me your thoughts on the topic and email addresses or phone #'s so information can be distributed as it is developed.  Hopefully we can get a spot on the forum to display info.
Thanks

We can add Atlantic City Race Week in July to this, which would be great for building the fleet from NJ south to South Carolina.

Details still to be worked out, but we can have a one design start at the Cinqo de Mayo regatta May 3-4.  Sailed out of Blackbeard Sailing Club in New Bern, NC.  I can arrange lodging for out of towners and camping is available on site.  Will post more when I work up some details.  We will be joining in with some other one design fleets.  That time of the year the sea breeze starts building in, as long as it warms up we should have 15-18 in the afternoons with plenty of flat water.

For the New Bern regatta, I can arrange boat storage between Charleston and the regatta.  Probably would be able to work out some storage after the regatta as well.

Hey Guys,

Any luck with getting this schedule together?  Even though I didn't make it down this year to Hampton YC, I'd like to get down there for some racing as I have lots of family in the area.  The November time frame was good this year--that's a super open month of the year sailing wise..

I tried to enter. I see that there are no other Vipers entered. I used PHRF spinnaker as an entry point but led me to pay. Do not mind paying but want to make sure that one way or another I will race. Who is in?? Sounds fun!

Your signed up. You shouldnt need to pay until June. I am on there too now. As long as we get one more boat we will have our own fleet and our own start.
