For those looking for something to do in between ACCs and Marblehead NOOD, consider coming down to Larchmont for the 115th Annual Larchmont Race Week.  16 Vipers currently signed up, expecting at least 3 others to definitely sign up, and a couple of others on top of that who are very likely to sign up, which could make for 20 Vipers (all from Western Long Island Sound) in attendance.  http://www.yachtscoring.com/emenu.cfm?eID=832 for NOR and scratch sheet.  Also tends to be a good party, housing available first-come first-serve.

Now 19 Vipers signed up, working on a 20th at minimum.  Free housing for those who want to come down, crew available, etc.  For those who think WLIS in July isn't any good, despite 90-degree temperatures this past weekend, we had 8-12 kts on Saturday, 7-14 kts Sunday, 6 races and 12 Vipers on the line.

Scratch that, now up to 20.  All local boats so far, but anyone who wants to come in is welcome to do so.  Did I add that Mt. Gay Rum is a sponsor, along with Ben & Jerry's?  Unlimited complimentary amounts of both post racing.

Today was a personal first.

I said no to free rum.

Epic sailing. Epic heat.

All my body craved was ice cold water and iboprofen.

Great day of sailing, started off around 10 kts from the SW, built to 12-20 kts from the WSW.  3 races, 1.25 nm beats against foul tide made upwind sailing a bit lengthy, but good racing.  23 Vipers, Pletsch/Potts lead the pack with a 2,1,1, despite only rounding maybe one mark in the lead all day.  Tomorrow's forecast is much lighter.  Results: http://www.yachtscoring.com/event_results_cumulative.cfm?eid=832&RaceClass=Viper
