It's here again - first WLIS regatta of the year, open to all, $0 entry fee as usual, late start (1425) both days for people who want to drive in on Saturday, free housing available, likely BBQ Saturday night. Registration is open - http://www.larchmontyc.org/Yachting/Regatta_Schedule/2016_Memorial_Day.aspx
7 Vipers now registered and at least 7 others who tell me that they plan to attend at least one of the two days who have yet to sign up - should be around 15 boats on the line - would love to have some visiting teams in the mix if anyone wants to make the trip.
Now with 10 Vipers registered.
Now with 12 Vipers registered and at least 3 more to follow. Plenty of room for out-of-towners...
Now up to 13 entries. Zeke Horowitz from North Sails will be giving a short (30-minute) tuning talk starting at 12 pm on Saturday before hitting the water for pre-race speed testing with anyone who wants to participate, so don't miss out.
14 now and we have commitments from 3 other boats for at least one day, so 17 boats on the line for part or all of the regatta. Still room for out-of-towners...
A couple of teams didn't make it to the starting line, but 15 Vipers sailed part or all of the weekend with 5 races in good conditions - Saturday ended up with planing conditions by the end of the day with a steadily building SSW breeze allowing for 3 races, and Sunday had more of the same with a slow build from the same direction. Racing was close and a number of new teams made their debut. Zeke Horowitz, Ian Coleman and Cat Pelo showed good speed in new hull 253 to win the weekend, with Ted Ferrarone and Cardwell Potts winning the final race to take second place ahead of Ghost Panda. Results are attached. The event was the first stop in the 2016 WLIS Championship Circuit, with the Noroton Viper Open June 4-5 as the next event.
