The Southeastern Viper fleet will kick off the 2009 Southeastern circuit at Oconee Sailing and Yacht Club on January 10 and 11, 2009.   OSYC is located on Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville GA about 90 miles from Atlanta (via I-20 east and US441 south).   A map and directions can be found at http://osyc.net/SPIP/article.php3?id_article=8   Registration and exact schedule will be posted later, but go ahead and save the date, and reply to this thread if you plan on attending, or have questions or suggestions.

Jay,

Boat #91 will be @ Lake Sinclair. I'm really looking forward to the event.

Gary Umberger

Jay,

Just got off the phone with David G. from Savannah. He will be at Sinclair, as well.

Justin Scott

St Pete Multiclass pulled from the racing calendar in favor of the very popular Sinclair event in January and possibility of Coral Reef Cup in March.

Have fun. I'm jealous.

What abou the other guys from Savannah?
Bucee's Revenge is planning on being there as well.
I think we need to rally the troops and get at least 10 to 15 boats.
I know the big concern has been we don't know what the weather will be.  Sailing in January in south Georgia.  What could be better.....Other than sailing in south Florida.....

I forgot.  Has anybody heard from the lone stranger in P'Cola.  Wouldn't be a long drive for him either.  RZ time to line up with the other Vipers....
Time to come out of the Shadows....

David from Savannah has said he's coming.  JP has a conflict that weekend, and I haven't spoken with Eric.  Weather is a huge concern - we typically have some fantastic sailing days in January, but we also have some 40-degrees-and-rain days.  The odds are about 50-50 for any given weekend.  I suggest that we watch the forecast carefully the week prior.

Here's the current weather forecast for Lake Sinclair this weekend.... 57 degrees, partly cloudy, 30% chance of rain.

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?w0=t&w1=td&w2=wc&w3=sfcwind&w4=sky&w5=pop&w6=rh&w7=thunder&w8=rain&w9=snow&w10=fzg&w11=sleet&AheadHour=106&Submit=Submit&FcstType=graphical&textField1=33.08520&textField2=-83.23980&site=all&unit=0

The wind forecast is a bit early to tell, but right now they are saying mid-teens from the NW, which is about perfect for Lake Sinclair racing.

NOR is posted at http://osyc.net/SPIP/article.php3?id_article=186

Be there!
