For those that are looking at wanting some sailing in November, the SE Fleet, has their last event of the year in November.
For those that are coming from out of town, We have free storage through the Winter, up untill Charelston raceweek, so no need to drag your boat back north.
Attached is the NOR.
Note that this event is now a 3 day event, however I have had feed back from a number of boats that probably can not make the Friday, so I am proposing that we treat nthe Friday as fun single day event, with multiple short races and a geat way to prepare for the Saturday and Sunday racing.
For more info and to register www.lnyc.org
Let me know if you have any questions.
Jackpot Racing team will be there. We have been sailing Lake Norman Spring and Fall for six years and we think they are the best regattas we sail all year.
Minnetonka III- #91 is registered for the race. We look forward to it. Please let us know if we are racing on Saturday or not.
Please let me know who is planning on attending. I have heard from a few of you. Also let me know whether you can make a friday race or not.
Hopefully we will have the same wind that we just had down in Atlanta, but without the cold rain!!
Those that I know about so far;
Gary Umberger
David Guggs
Jonathan Nye
Brad Boston
Jay Harrell
David Eve
Can we get any of the other Northern boats to start making their way south early? We can store your boat just as Kay did last year.
Jackpot can make a Friday afternoon start. Maybe get 2-3 races off starting a 1:00 or 2:00pm?
Anyway we will be there Friday early am.

Does anyone know officially what days the regatta is? Novemberer 6-8 or November 7-8?
The regatta is 6th-8th. It appears that most are available to racing friday pm, Sat and Sunday.
Please let me know if you still have questions.
Thanks
hey Gugg, I still want to come, and it doesn't conflict with my trip to METS. Just need to convince my wife that it's necessary! I can spin it into a business trip to customers up and down the East Coast though. ;)
What would be better for you and/or the local scene- me bringing Rattler and taking interested locals as crew? Coming without the boat and jumping aboard with someone who could use some on-board coaching? Bringing the boat and a full crew?
Let me know.
Dan
Dan, a boat and full crew would be great. The more boats the merrier. I am not aware of any local crew that are looking for a ride, but can put out a request for those that need to pick up a third.
#57 is going to try to make it. The boat is new to me so I'm putting it together and taking it for a sail this week to see if it is ready to go.
I plan to be there around lunchtime on Friday. Looking forward to it.
Damn, I love this event. Would like to get out for it...but alas, that's my kid weekend.
You all have a ball!
Is it now definite that racing starts on Friday? Had thought we'd be using Friday to rig up and practice (something I'm okay with). I'm also okay with racing so long as it's not too early. What time is the first start?

Damn, now I gotta find crew AND haul the boat down!

You better be a fast rigger. It looks like racing starts soon after that.
Jackpot will be there about 7am.

Also coming from Atlanta, and I also won't be there until something like lunchtime. Basically, we're leaving Atlanta very early Friday morning and getting there as soon as we can.
Those of us that are already rigged will be ready to help those that are arriving later.
I am also waiting to hear back from the Club to see if we have been able to round up any additional crew for those that are still looking.
Let me know if you need a third (or a second!)
David.........the Mambo Kings will be there, consisting of Paul Zimmerman (skipper of 55), Justin Scott (skipper of 54) and Ben Steinberg (skipper of 22), all sailing on #121, Mambo Kings IV
If you see the boat split into 3 separate pieces and head off in 3 different directions, you will know why!
Seriously, we are all looking forward to getting together with y'all.
One question. I understand it is ramp launching. Is there a hoist available in the area somewhere so that we can lift the boat to drop the boat onto the keel ? Our keel is out and we would rather travel sans keel.
Thanks J

Viper 19 still needs a third!
The Yacht Club installed a new hoist early this year, so whilst there is plenty of ramp launching you will have access to a hoist.
Kelly, are you going to be able to make it? There will be enough brain trust here to help you sort out your boat if needed. If not we can find you a ride on one of the other boats.
Yes we will be there! We will likely need one crew member for Friday if anyone from the area happens to be available for the day.
Will anyone be traveling through the Raleigh/Durham area on thursday afternoon or early friday on their way to Lake Norman? There is a good sailor that goes to UNC that will be crewing but needs a ride. Let me know if you are driving that way and have room for a passanger.
Thanks
We met a group of enthusiastic, talented highschool sailors last year who were all over the idea of sailing a viper. I imagine they'd be a good pool to draw from for additional crew (not to mention planting the seeds for future fleet growth in the area)
Kay, so far we have at least one of them that will be sailing and we are working on trying to get more signed up.
Please note that if you want to order any T Shirts for your crew, this needs to be done by tomorrow morning. One T-Shirt will be provided for each boat registered.
They have used the viper as the boat featured on the shirt. The design in in the NOR
All orders should be sent to Jason Blair (jblair at phillipsfederal dot com)
For those that have waited to send in their registration forms, I will let Jason know that we will have 10 Vipers registered.
If anyone still needs crew I have a good Guy available. 190lbs, sails just about every boat out there.

David Eve is coordinating crew among several boats, and there are still crew slots available, so please send him an email he'll get you hooked up.
Brad, thanks for the heads up. We think that we have a 3rd for Jay, but we don't have a definite yet. We are however looking for Crew for Friday. To date there will be 3 or 4 boats that are only 2 up for the Friday racing.
Ed the 190lbs has a ride now, But Becky is available to race Friday only. So someone speak up she is a really good M 24 sailor.
Brad
Brad, Let her know that she has a ride.
Can you send me her contact info and I will put her in contact with a boat.
Thanks
Team Jackpot had a great time and really enjoyed the hospitality that Lake Norman Yacht club gave us. This is a great place to sail and is centrally located on the East Coast. They do another regatta in the March that people should defiantly consider. If you could not make it this time put it on your calendar for next time.
