Even though its far off, we have 5 boats registered so far. Should be a good event
What's it like a AYC? get to launch there and keep the boat there too? How about local lodging?
Yeah, vipers have an area to launch from. I think we pulled out sat night last year because it was easy, but there is dock space.
alright, I'm in. Got to go cash in all the aluminum beer cans in the garage to pay for this Viper addiction!
Ah, its money well spent. 6 boats so far!! Here is the link http://www.yachtscoring.com
Jackpot is coming back to do this regatta again. 12 hr drive is well worth it!
12 hrs for me also, plus $65 in tolls!! Might be a little "chilly" up there for us Southern Boys...
I'm in!
$115 for three ppl, includes 2 nights of food, beer, and three polo shirts.
They are also going to attempt to house everyone that wants it, if you enter by Sept. 1.
When you go to the reg. page, be sure to add housing and the shirts to you reg. order (note price is $0).
8 boats so far!!
Rut Row will be there!
Awesome, seems like if your going to do any event in the fall on the east coast, its this one.

Come to HPDO and get a new kite for as little as $600!
Thank You EFG and the sailmakers who are making this happen!
Sweet!
Animal is 90%, might have a second boat from Texas in tow as well.
Anyone doing this event but not planning on buying one of these cheap kites? Bit of a long shot I know but i'm really struggling to get a kite (i can afford) for my Viper. I would love to do the event but we sail ing the UK so it's a bit too far. If you be interested in making a few bucks by buying one and selling it to me I'd be a very happy man! OR if you buy on and then want to sell you old (but hopefully Good) kite I'd also be interested.
Hopefully someone can help?!
24 boats registered so far!! Lets keep going!!
trying to make some concrete plans
Any thoughts on where to stay?

Any thoughts on where to stay?
For what it's worth--
Seems like the HoJo and Courtyard in Rye are sold out. But I did find this place in Mamaroneck:
http://www.mamaroneckmotel.com/
Rooms are ~$80, seems nice enough.
72 hrs cancellation policy.
thanks Will check it out
Stamford has some nice hotels at good rates. Thats where we are staying. Its about a 20min ride. I think our rate was like 78 a night.
We stayed at a hotel last year about twenty minutes away last year. There aren't any real close but Stamford has a lot of hotels. Finding someone to put you up in a house is the way to go, there are plenty of people with some big houses if you can set it up.
Once you get there, there is a hoist and and we left our boats on the dock last year. Last years racing was a blast even though it's only two days we got a lot of racing with big breeze. We have our highest recorded speed on the Viper of 22.2 knots on the velocitek.
We'd like to get out sailing after lunch on Friday. If there are enough boat's, perhaps a few practice races? Wabbit starts?

FYI. We cannot sell our EFG kites. Part of the deal is that we commit to wearing the EFG kite at 2011 sancyioned regattas. But I might have a cheap kite for you. Which boat number are you? Get your boat # and contact info to Charles Goodrich (class secy).
There is a UK team coming to HPDO.
TWENTY SEVEN BOATS REGISTERED.
Whahooooo. Lets go through thirty!
Thanks Justin,
The Boat number is GBR602. (although there was some confusion that it might be 605 but Paul Young thinks it's 602 and thats good enough for me.)
I haven't got any contact details for Charles?
We'd love to come out but sadly money is tight this year, maybe do an event next season??
Thirty Four Vipers and counting
#28 from Lake George NY makes 35 Viper's on the line for HPDO.

If anyone needs a crew let me know we have one from Detroit area about 140lbs. Been sailing on vipers this summer and fall and wants to sail.
I am looking to crew at this event, I pay my own way and I bring the beer.
I am crewless at the moment due to some lack of commitments thus far, so I may be looking shortly.
Send me a note at obleck [at] gmail if interested.
Cheers
Olaf, drew harper was looking for a spot.
Can't make it now...flights uber pricey last minute.
Good luck to everyone!
I'm hoping to fly out for the AYC K6 International Cup on Oct 22-24. Keep the wind up till I'm there.
Anyone else planning to go for a sail tomorrow?
Hope to sail by two, depending on when I can get the lift turned on at sail newport.
We should be on the water around 2 or 3.

I love the 100% blue boat. I couldn't see a pic with the sail number to see the age of the boat. Is that a factory or aftermarket finish?
Greg
All blue boat is #108 out of NJ - its original gel coat by Rondar.
I assume you meant the dark blue showing its underside in a full broach ?
There's also a light blue all over (including deck) that is Paul Z's new ride.

My origional sight was of the full broach! Love the full color. If I ever get a new one...
I think that we can all say that happens too us all. My claim to fame was sticking it in too close at the winward offset mark and lauching at the Anarchy Regatta and having it shown on SA in the lowlite video...

Cool thing about Rondar. You can order any color boat, waterline stripe, deck, you want. It's $380 for unique hull or deck colors. The new West coast works boat is grey with a light grey deck and white bottom. Love the light grey deck...much easier on the eyes than the white, Though MUCH harder to repair dings on.
