It's almost August, so even though there are several good events remaining on the northeast Viper calendar, it also means that HPDO is closer to us than Memorial Day. Vipers are historically the largest class at HPDO and this year without a conflict with the North Americans, turnout should be extremely high.
It's also a great chance to practice for the 2015 NAs at Larchmont YC around the corner from American YC. In 2015, HPDO will be the unofficial "Pre NAs" on Saturday-Sunday, with the NAs to be sailed the following Thursday-Sunday (with Columbus Day on Monday for a lay day, another lay day Tuesday, and registration and practice on Wednesday). So it'll be the same time of year in waters that are only a couple of miles away from the 2015 NAs racecourse, making it a really good excuse for teams to travel in and see what it's like that time of year in Western Long Island Sound.
As always, if anyone needs a hand with crew, housing, etc., please reach out to me or anyone else from the WLIS Viper Fleet. Otherwise, please sign up early and often: http://www.yachtscoring.com/emenu.cfm?eID=1148

These guys really know how to run a first class event! I hope you guys get a taste of the breeze we had at 2013 HPDO.
Have fun!
Now up to 35 entries. Outside chance of getting a couple more (22, 54, 167), though I know that 87 and 93 can no longer make it, so 33 boats confirmed. Still pretty good.

Had a great time even though I only sailed on Sunday. I had the best finishes that I have had since coming up there. Shows that I am finally getting it. Knew that boom was an issue just not enough time to fix. Thanks to all that made this possible. Hope all can come to Hampton so I can return the hospitality.
The HPDO is always on list of must do regattas! Having sailed 5 races on Saturday it is nice to come in and have a fantastic dinner and socialize with everyone again. Every time we sail this boat we always come home with a smile on our faces and looking forward to the next event!
Thanks again for American Yacht Club making this amazing regatta happen!!
See you next time..
