Hi Everyone,
I am starting to hear some information about a Leukemia Cup Charity Regatta at Crescent Sail Club for Vipers and a few other classes on May 18th and am thinking about attending with our Viper.. wanted to get a feel for other boats that may be interested in attending. There is more to come on this soon but maybe we can get together a good group of boats for a great spring tune up.. if we have enough, maybe we can get someone to run races Sunday for us also?
Anyone In?
We will be there. Hoping to make crescent the home of vipers in detroit
I'm in for Detroit as well.
Nick
Awesome, sounds like we are starting to get some interest. If we get to 5-6 boats we should be able to find some help to run some races Sunday.. Any local's with knowledge of CSC or others who may RC it would be much appreciated.
#194 will see you @ Crescent
#57 will be at Crescent Regatta
Sounds like you guys are up to 5 Vipers already...good start. We should get this one on the schedule on the website.
I am sure the New Jackpot will be there.... Can't wait!
We will be there for any event in the Detroit area. Steve conger joined crescent and I'm going to fill out paperwork and get in as well. So should have two boats home being crescent.
Lee - do you think there is any type of background check for Crescent?
OK looks like the registration site is up.. I think it is $50 registration fee but that is for a great cause!

Second Viper now registered.. thank you Nick for committing to come.
Anyone else ready to register?

Awesome Lee, thank you for helping to set this up!
Just in case you need it, here is another link to the regatta page

Looking forward to seeing the new Jackpot in a few weeks at Crescent. Congratulations to them for winning in Charleston!
If there is anyone who didn't get enough fun this past weekend, would be great to have you in Detroit for a few days, its right on the way to Chicago for the NOOD.

Sunday race committee is all set. Anyone that wants to race on Sunday we will set up some nice short race courses and bang some races off sarnia style.
Awesome Lee, thank you so much for putting this together. would be great to get 4-5 races off before say 1PM then head in and pack up.
Does anyone know about access to crescent on Friday afternoon. I am hoping to arrive around 4PM and was trying to get out sailing for a little while to practice and look at the rig.
Just a few days away now... can't wait.
Steve, I will be down there about 5pm.
Steve,
I am planning to get to Crescent around 4pm as well.
If I get lucky and get out of town earlier, is there a staff member at the club that knows we are coming to sail and will let us in?
Looking forward to my inaugural sail in a Viper.
Which regatta is going to be the 2013 Viper Great lakes Championship?
Is it this one or CORK?
Doug
They know we are coming but not sure if the gate will be open. I will check this weekend to see what can be worked out. Worst case you will have to wait at the gate until a club member arrives.
Steve if you'll be out any earlier (or anyone else) we will probably be there early as long as we can get in and set up.
Keep us posted.
Justin I don't believe it's this one.
Just heard from Trey Arthur that he will be there around 4pm for anyone who is arriving and setting up. I asked him about leaving the boats in the water and if there is space, he said 'working on it' so I do not know the status of having to pull boats each night.
Lee - just 2x checking that we are good for Sunday? What time do you think we should plan to get started Sunday, and what type of RC boat should we be looking for?
Looking forward to seeing / meeting everyone tomorrow. Safe travels.
Hope everyone had a good time. I'm bummed I couldn't be there. Hopefully everyone had a good time. Casey who did Sunday race committee said he enjoyed helping out.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Leukemia Cup this year at Crescent. 5 boats 6 Races over 2 days. Maybe a little more wind would have been better but well run races and good competition. Hope to see you in Sarnia in a few weeks.
Nothing posted on yachtscoring.com -- any results?
Must have just recently posted it, here are results from Saturday
http://www.yachtscoring.com/event_results_cumulative.cfm?eID=153
