Registration is open! https://yachtscoring.com/emenu.cfm?eID=16367

We've reached out to the regatta chair at Bayview and have confirmation that the plan is for Vipers to race in the lake (not the river!). They also confirmed that arrangements have been made with Crescent Sail Yacht Club for launching and racing.

Should be a great regatta and Mike and I would love to host some Viper socials in Detroit! Let us know if you have any other questions about the regatta planning, logistics, etc. and we'll do our best to get answers ASAP.

Now that this is a HH regatta, we hope we can make it a successful event and use it to help build a bigger Great Lakes fleet.

At the moment there are only three boats entered in this event for 2024. If the class doesn't form this year, we should make a substantial effort for 2025.

As it turns out, this event is perfectly spaced between Annapolis, Norton Lipton Cup 2 Weeks later, Then Detroit. Then, the new Lake Sunnapee event 2 weeks after that. A great span of class events over 8 weeks with space between to recover.
SWRS holds top-quality events and we'd have a great North-East region between Quebec, Detroit, Lake Sunnapee, Marblehead, Long Island Sound, and Annapolis.

Plus, I hear the Vipers have their own bar.

This is a great event! Come on Great Lakes Vipers - lets register.

This is the first Great Lakes event of the season, so I am looking forward to seeing you all at Crescent Yacht Club.

328 is in. We need 8 boats for a one design start.

See you there!

I believe the 8 boats is actually a typo.  Compare to SWRS Annapolis which requires 6 boats in the NOR. I emailed the RO and the response was that "We will accommodate smaller fleets"

Unfortunately 176 also remains on the scratch sheet, but can't make it. I booked a conference in NYC Thursday evening before the event as well as a regatta in another class that weekend.

I asked to take the registration down, but they asked to keep it up for advertising sake.  So, there are 3 boats entered as of 4/29 and need 3 more for 6 by May 10th for the class formation date.
