Demo Days, at Pensacola YC , July 3,4,5

Another fun, busy, and educational Viper 640 Demo Days was held at Pensacola Yacht Club this July 4th weekend. The planned demo weekend was for a full day Friday, July 3rd and a half day July 4th.  It got a bit longer.

Pensacola Yacht Club hosted a very well run Junior Olympic Regatta, sailed in Optis, Lasers, and 420s.  The organizers contacted Gulf Performance Sailing to bring a Viper or two along to take folks out sailing.  GPS had one Viper on display on the front lawn of PYC and had a Viper doing demo sails Friday into the evening hours.  Saturday fund the GPS trailer selling out of 420 and Opti parts.  More sailing on the Viper with the last demo sail coming back to the dock around 6:30pm on the Fourth, barely enough time to head home for fireworks with family. With PYC asking GPS to come back Sunday for more Viper demo sails.

Sunday found GPS selling a new Zim Club Opti wth all the fixin's to a new Gulf Yachting Association Green Fleeter with aspirations to win a World Championship.  Quite a bit of interest in a few folks not only wanting PYC to buy a Viper that day, but some individual folks prepping themselves to buy their own personal Viper within the year.

Lots of new friends, and surprisingly some old friends from the past (like over twenty years ago) had hugs, puffs, tacks and gybes all weekend long.

Best quote of the weekend... a nine year old Opti sailor trimmed main, jib, and the spin in the 15-18knot breezes on the Viper Saturday evening, coming back to the dock..."That was the coolest thing ever!"
