Title: Charleston Raceweek Dockage
Post by: Kay VanValkenburgh on April 02, 2009, 11:10:18 AM
I called Garrison Rudisill, Dockmaster ([email protected], tel 843-284-7062), about dock reservations and told him I'd share the info with the fleet

He said each boat has a few choices: share slips with Vipers or raft with other boats (free dockage area is latter only), and gave the following details:
- each Viper owner should contact him to say what they intend to do
- Slips B33 and B35 reserved for Vipers; probably also B29 and B31
- 9 Vipers will fit in each slip (3 on each side and 3 down the middle)
- Each slip costs $270.60 (66 ft of dock on each side * $2.05/ft * 2 sides) and is 30ft+ wide, so cost for a slip with 9 boats is $30 per-boat
- He prefers that we organize ourselves for payment as a group rather than taking individual credit cards

CAN 70 is in.  I have just emailed the dockmaster.  We'll be getting there Wed (I hope).

I just spoke to Garrison as well.

102 (Animal) and 103 (The Stig) are in as well for the protected Viper Group Slips.  Not sure what our slip number will be.  Garrison said to contact him when we arrive for a slip assignment.

FYI, we'll be arriving late night on Wednesday, and in the water Thursday morning.

See y'all there,
Felipe.

I just spoke to Garrison too.
#87 (String Theory) is in and I will contact them for the slip # just prior to arriving.
We've got an 18 hour drive and should arrive sometime late Tuesday.

BTW, young Sean and my 3rd's wife (Not my 3rd wife!)will be coming down.  If anyone needs full-time crew or a fill-in, they are available.

Cheers,
Harv

# 58 (Screamer) is also in for the protected dock space.  Garrison said B29 or B31 he didn't know which yet.  He also said he is planning a MINIMUM of 9 boats for the large slips, with possibly as many as 11.  See how it works out.

Plans are to arrive late Wed. and in the water ASAP Thurs.

See ya'll there.
