Best tow of the regatta award goes to the RC patrol boat that caribeened a bottle of rum to the tow line and sent it back to the Vipers, who took a swig and passed it along their tow line to the next Viper and so on. Who were those guys? It looked very cool and they deserve a special mention.

This was in good part the doing of Joanne Peacock (of Viper Rut Row). Mark McVey from the race committee  had the rum and joanne had the skills to make it happen, almost looked like she was a regular at it.....

Great regatta, shore side action could not have been better Props to Bacardi and EFG. Anderson did a great job on the race course, with what little wind we had. I will buy him beer. Bacardi and studio Milano were so impressed with his skills, they want him to PRO the Miami Sailing Week.

This was also the critical mass regatta for the Newport Fleet, with 7 out 8 boats on the line and a couple more that arrived just few days too late to make it.

Long beach had nothing on Newport this year. It seems they were all in bed by 11pm, about the time we were getting kicked out of the bars in Newport. Got to love an after, after party.

Cheers

was great to spend time with eddie... nice guy and i think he will be around for
awhile :)

eddie wants to see more internationals out there and maybe there will be an
AUS on the main in 2012.

i need to say sorry for a foul on #22 at a general recall,

miami was for sure better sailing but newport had better nightlife

2 things for me were bad, you inside a new viper & there setup
is different from the off the shelf boat.
but the big thing was two skippers saying to f* off to people.

i'll will never rule 69 anyone but there is a young boy
on 161 that i hope didn't hear anything...
it's great to see those guys racing as a team

I would like to thank one of the crews for getting in contact to
say sorry but they will remain un-named...

Yeah Chappers, you are the stand up guy who stole my bottle of rum.
I had best see that bottle in Sarnia or you will be in trouble.

As far as racing goes, Newport is all or nothing, out standing or nothing. Miami is consistent. Also turquoise warm water doesn't suck either.

I plan on attending both events if bank accounts and jobs will let me.

No pick up crew in Sarnia I plan to kick some aussie arse!

We need more crew in the class like Erika. She had great spirit, ready smile and looked like a damn good sailor. Did you let her steer on last day?

Go the Viperettes!

Don't worry she is now in the fold. Too much fun on Sunday to hand off the stick but she is doing Monday night beer can racing on the boat. I will make sure Scotty gives her drive time while I am away.

Great video.
Beer tents are sooo lame, rum tents from now on. Westies still have a long way before their shore side game is up to par.

Sure looks that way...!

Yes, great video.

Next year can we have LBRW and Bacardi Newport on different weekends...?  I can't sail both my boats at once! LOL
