The event's name is now the North- East Lipton Inter Club Challenge, spanning Ontario to the Chesapeake.

Registration opened today.https://norotonyc.org/regatta/XPvrF6SMLE
Before starting the entry process, I strongly recommend reading the instructions on How To Enter. They are included on the documents on the front page of the event website,  But I attach a copy here.  The main difference is that you are registering as a Club team and not as an individual skipper.

Up until December 31st you can secure a slot for a $5 deposit while you figure out your club's team .  From December 31st you have to pay in full at the time of registration.

o   104 year old event between clubs in a One-Design class commenced in 1920 when Sir Tommy presented the perpetual trophy to Southern Yacht Club.
o   First 48 years in the Fish Class. Then 48 years in the Flying Scot. In 2016, switched to the Viper 640. Hosted in the Gulf by the GYA.
o   For the 105th year, a North East Lipton is being inaugurated . Same rules . Same Format. Same Boat.
o   There are 41 eligible clubs in the catchment area. 22 of them already have Vipers. The Organizing Authority is inviting a further 7 clubs by introducing them to Viper owners who are prepared to lend their boat and sail with the team as an Owner's representative.
o   We are conservatively expecting 15-20 teams from 15- 20 clubs from the North East reaching from the Chesapeake to Ontario.  This inaugurates a third Lipton Challenge. In addition to the GYA Lipton, San Diego YC hosts a Lipton Challenge on the West Coast in J105s.
o   One boat per club so you are encouraged to pool resources.
o   Each team must comprise at least 2 helms (can be more) and no helm can sail more than ½ the races. This rewards bench strength and encourages pooling resources to get a boat to the event.
o   The team can comprise as many people as you like. You cannot change team members during the day but you can have different people on Sunday than Saturday. The opens the opportunity to sail to people who can only attend for a day.
o   Cajun dinner and Hurricane Cocktails after racing on Saturday.
