The Whitebread Race is the largest keelboat race on Long Island.  30 miles around Shelter Island, starting and finishing in Peconic Bay.  It is often the only race many local boats due each year since there is a famous post-race party.  Info about the race at https://www.windcheckmagazine.com/article/whitebread_xxv_is_september_29_2018/

So far we have 4 Vipers signed up and a 5th about to enter.  We can reasonably accommodate a maximum of 8 Vipers since we'd be launching and hauling from Rich Prieto's lawn, which is 2 miles from the start.  For those not familiar with Rich's setup, he built a hoist in his backyard in Southold, NY - https://www.viper640.org/usa-news/living-the-dream-part-1/ and he and his wife will be having pre and post race food and drink at their house before the official post-race party.

Registration is posted at https://www.regattanetwork.com/event/24777 - cost is $50 for first-time entrants.  Fees go up this weekend.
