Hey all.  The Notice of Series for the 2014 Viper 640 Southeast Winter Series is attached.

Quite a bit of thought went into the final outcome on this.  Lots of ideas were shared and discussed.  The series is set up so that a boat may miss an entire regatta in the series, or just a day of a two day event and still place well in the standings.  So if you can make only three of the four events you can still win the series.

Travis Yates our of the Sarasota Sailing Squadron has put together affordable dry storage plans if you are interested in keeping your boat down South for a longer period.  SSS may even put together some more sailing outside of the series to increase sailing activity.  Travis's contact info is in the NOS.

Hope to see you there!

SE Scoring Matrix as of 1/10/14 attached.

Us folk down here in Florida got a taste of that Yankee weather for a couple of days.  You know what, that stuff sucks.  Ya'll  Northern Aggressors come on back down here to the South, with a friendly attitude this time, and do some sailin'

Day one at the Sarasota event was a a lot of fun with excellent competition and a lot of good camaraderie on and off the course. Five boats sailed Six races. Wind was light, lot's of fog in the morning, but it burned off a bit and we got breeze. We started right on time with about 5 knots of breeze. You all know how the old saying goes... "it's never like this here!" Had a few "crew swaps" today, and getting three more interested potential Viperers out tomorrow on the Rondar demo boat(thanks for bringing the boat down Dan). Local Viper 91 is leading with 4 bullets and a pair of 3's. Sunday's forecast looks a bit more promising with regard to the wind.

Anyone planning both Miami and Charleston should consider dropping your boats off here and doing our March event, prior to Charleston. We have "nearly free" storage here and will put on a good pre-Charleston Regatta.

Thanks 100. Today we got in another 6 races... What a great weekend. Travis Yates, with crew Mike Meighan, and Greg sailed a really nice regatta and came away with the win on USA91 "Sidewinder". We also introduced a few more sailors to the fleet this weekend, all of which had a good time on the Vipe.
