Title: Viper center of gravity
Post by: Robert Bernard on June 27, 2013, 12:26:04 PM
Anyone know roughly where the CG of a viper is? I'm sure it's aft of the mast, but I need to know how far aft.

Roughly right over the keel. What are you trying to figure?

We have to lift the viper, slide old broken trailer out and slide new in. I wanted to rest her on blocks in between old and new so no one gets hurt.

No hoist around I'm assuming? That would obviously be the easiest solution

I wish. Can't even move the boat as the trailer currently has only one wheel.

Just get an engine hoist. Raise the back, put it on blocks. Then raise the front and pull the trailer out. Use a carpet dolly for axle. Just gotta get creative. Times a wastin', get on it!
