#1. Should we replace tires that are 10+ years old if they still look good?
Everything I've read about car tires says yes, but not sure about trailer tires.

#2. The ones on the trailer are 145 R10. Would it be alright to replace them with 165 R10's as that's all I can find in a 10" rim.

#1 Yes. If you are going to do any road trips, don't do it on 10 year old tires. You may not be able to see the dry rot in there.

#2 you can up size to the wider tire, it should fit but check the load rating. If its much higher it will make for a harder ride on your boat. On the other hand if you have addon's like a heavy trailer box it could help. I'm a big believer in going OEM when possible.

If you are replacing the wheel with the tire be sure you are getting a 100mm 4 bolt pattern.  The 4 inch 4 bolt wheels look the same but will not fit. I got mine from Towing and Trailers in the UK.  Search this forum under "tires" for more info.

Mike and I spent the last week trying to find the right tires (tyres) and eventually got so sick of it that we just took the trailer yesterday to get the axle replaced.

Instead of 10" wheels, we now have 13" ones that are much easier to find tires for here in the US.

When we had 127, we were buying cheap wheels & tires from Walmart or Canadian Tire but they were smaller than 10" (I think 8") and so we'd run through them super quickly.

If a new axle isn't an option for you, we did find these these Camac tires from a place in Tennessee. They're 145R10 but we passed on them since the load index is only 68 (vs 84 on the tires we were looking to replace).

The few 145 10r tires made today are for the old Mini Cooper and other old micro cars/trucks, but they don't use 100 mm 4lug wheels. The only 100 mm 4 lug  I could find was from the Amazon link posted in an earlier thread, but those are no longer available! If it hasn't already happened, it's just a matter of time before 100 mm 4 lug wheels capable of taking a 145 tire will no longer be available even in England. The only 100 mm 4 lug wheels being made are for golf cart tires which are wider and not rated for interstate travel.

Try again? I just read this and the Amazon link and show they have 10 in stock so availability may come & Go.

Just make sure you're getting 100mm PCD. Not 100mm Center Bore. With Center Bore (Center opening that the bearing fits through) is 100mm wide It's not even close to fitting.
PCD (Pitch Circle diameter) is the diameter of an imaginary circle passing through the center of a vehicle's wheel studs or bolt holes.

Tire size is actually irrelevant for the most part as long as the wheel fits and it's not some kind of circus donut that won't fit under the fender.
