The boys from down under will be arriving with our much sort after Speed Puck trophy. To participate and win a bottle of fine Australian Wine contestants must be present at the end of the days racing for "Pucks on the Bar" award ceremony. The winner being the crew with the highest puck speed for the day. Ties are sorted by opening the bottle and sharing.
The rules are simple the speed must be recorded by the boat, after it has been launched and before it is hauled out at the end of the day. no land recorded numbers will be accepted. Everything else is legal.

See you all soon

Are the prizes for top speed 10 seconds sustained, or top overall speed?  The latter with Velocitek seems to be somewhat jumpy in my experience, but you guys are the experts.  Also, do you need a Puck to participate, or are Prostarts allowed as well?

For those of us sailing out of BYC, the transport of the puck to the bar for verification is either going to take a long, long time or guarantee us a win each time ....

I assume you can just turn off the Speedpuck like you can the Prostart and not have that be a problem?

We are happy to call any Viper legal gps device that will hold a 10sec time and can be placed and viewed on the bar - a puck
Getting your puck to the bar without recording a land based 10sec speed is the competitors problem . All disputes will be resolved by the crowd .

Nope, it dumps the memory. So it's either a really slow walk or an amazing top speed .....

Media report of north Americans is all good
however the rest of the down under viper phyles want to know about  The Important vipering stuff ie who won pucks on the bar? What was the speed and the margin
Come on you media puckers what about the heads up on the sailing puckers?

Local fleet gossip for international consumption ;the the Snake Charmer has snatched the pucks on the bar trophy from the Don't Forget Alice girls by point one of a knot 4 consecutive yachts  whilst the  Velocity chaps have claimed flat batteries as an excuse so often that the local fleet has asked in what AA battery  powered instrument are they using them......???

Happy Vipering  Fast
Cheers The snake charmer
