Hi. Looking for information on mounting an outboard on my viper.
We made our own outboard bracket using aluminum plate and angle. Make sure to silicone the bolts in place using 4200. Rondar also sells the brackets for $300. We like having the outboard to get in and out of the harbour. Also in some areas motors are required to sail in PHRF.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181128/e2ae537e750aa6ca8f1b179b3be02074.jpg)

Hi Gerry,
Congrats on your new boat! There should be 3 threaded inserts in the deck in a triangle pattern on the port side of the rudder tower.
I bought the Rondar version but if I had to do again I would just make out of aluminum as the previous post indicates.

It will definitely be a short shaft.
One item to keep in mind is the rudder. I mounted a torqueedo to the stock mount, my rudder cut the prop blades off like butter. So I had to modify the mount to both raise the motor 3" and outboard to clear the larger prop of the electric. Also with the torque you cannot raise it more than 3", unless you have some heavy bracket. The height lets me rock the motor out of the water. A real race, I would not have it in the boat but need to get in and out of where I normally launch.
