I am thinking of coming back into sailing after a long break and the viper looks great! And this website is very helpful as well. At the end of the day I believe the key for me will be ease of getting from home to being on the water. I live in a NYC apartment so no backyard to store the boat. I understand I'll probably need to pay for that. Part of the joy of living in the city I guess... I am thinking of Western Long Island Sound, either northern or southern coasts as locations to store and launch the boat from. Question is what are good options for summer storage that is very close to the water, ideally on land in marina where boat can stay with mast up? And for winter storage which can be further from the water and less accessible so cheaper?
Appreciate everyone help.
Ran,
I just sent you a note - send me an email and we can discuss
Ran,
You can store and race a Viper from Noroton Yacht Club in Darien for between $200 and $600 for the season. The amount varies depending on how often you sail. The more you sail, the less you pay.
Noroton Heights Train station is 48 minutes out of Grand Central on Metro North and other Viper sailors will pick you up at the train station which is 7 minutes from the club.
We can also put you in touch with some attractive valued used boats.
