Occasionally we have the spinnaker halyard get snagged on the top jib batten during a hoist. Anyone have this happen to them and know of a fix?
I suspect your spin halyard is a little too loose.
Agree with John. It is also possible that your jib halyard top batten is a little bit too long. This is otherwise an easy thing to correct pre-hoist where if you can see your spin halyard drifting aft you can tension it up while going upwind so that it can't approach anywhere near the leech of the jib. The jib should stay in initially pre hoist anyhow to help turn the bow down as you round the mark so that you use less rudder.
