Title: Hoisting the boat in the water
Post by: Erik Eaves on October 09, 2007, 02:00:29 PM
Just purchased a viper!  How is the boat hoisted into the water?  I have no other viper at our club to compare with.

Thanks,
Erik

There are two lifting points in the cockpit just aft and in board of the beer coolers (otherwise known as storage hatches) and the third point is the jib tack attachment fitting on the bow.

I borrow a lifting sling so I don't know the proper lengths for the three lengths of cable. Maybe someone else can chine in with that info.

Congratulations Erik. Welcome to the class. I hope we will see you at the ST Pete NOOD.

You should also think about getting to the Ol Man of the Sea regatta in Dallas coming up soon. The locals will help you with set up.

Send an email to John McCormack to get signed up for class association.

Viper can be ramp launched or lifted on 3 point harness. I will measure harness and post.
