Title: Available to crew, SoCal
Post by: Craig Walker on June 06, 2013, 04:19:10 PM
Hi Everyone,

I'm checking out the Viper to possibly buy, and would like to crew in SoCal.

Long Beach and Newport Harbor are optimal.  I can go up to LA or down to San Diego as well. I can do beer cans too.

I'm 6-0, 180 pounds in sailing gear.

I grew up in Long Beach, near ABYC, and sailed Sabots, Sunfish, Lasers, Hobie 16s, and crewed on Cal20's and a bit on a Cal 39. I crewed on Sunday at CRW for Reid, and had a good time. Presently I'm sailing the J22's out of the UCI Sail Base in Newport Harbor.

By the way, I do have a family conflict already for LBRW.

Wow. You schedule your family conflicts in advance?
Mine just seem to happen spontaneously and usually unexpected.

Lol!

Someone at CRW was nice enough to ask me to crew for LBRW, and only after I told my wife about it did she mention the 3 family things she had me scheduled for. At least I was able to decline the invitation promptly. Darn women!

A wise and famous Italian sailor was once asked whether he loved his new boat. He replied:

" I like my boat very much. I love my wife"

I thought it was a great quote and worth remembering.
