Hi all.  Next up on the GYA Demo Days is Pontchartrain Yacht Club's Schools Out Regatta.  June 6th & 7th in beautiful Mandeville, Louisiana.  One of the most fun youth events in the Gulf Yachting Association, PontYC really does a great job hosting a regatta.  Demos are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.  Two Viper 640's will be open to sailing and just playing around on.  The Gulf Performance Sailing trailer will be on site as well with Marlow Ropes, Eelsnot Speed Products, Opti and 420 parts, Harken and Zhik Gear, Marlow Ropes, and more.  The Zim Opti, Zim Club 420, and Zim 15 will be on display as well.  Some giveaways to include Gulf Performance Sailing hats, and Zim Sailing hats.

Hope to see ya there:

Demo Days Pontchartrain Yacht Club, Louisiana was a good time.  Craig and Deborah from Gulf Performance Sailing got to meet Mason Sheen, who was a big help in getting boat around the past couple of weeks.  Thank you Mason.

Very light and really shifty winds made the weekend hot and humid to say the least.  PontYC swimming pool was being used to the full effect over the weekend.  A small turnout, for the Schools Out Regatta found a small fleet of Sunfish, a fun fleet of 420's, and a mixed Portsmouth Fleet of two Vipers, a Finn, and cat sailor extrodinaire Bob Hodges on a Weta.  The Opti sailors were on a different course and only a handful got the chance to sail on the Viper, rather opting out (see what I did there?)  to jump in the swimming pool after racing.

Quite a few folks from different Yacht Clubs in the region got a change to drive and crew in the Portsmouth races over the weekend.  Ages ranging from 10, to , well, not 100, got the opportunity to go sailing on the Vipers.  Every experience was a positive one, with what is becoming normal to us doing the demos...lots of smiling faces and the words 'I want one".

The boats got packed up again, and are back in Fort Walton Bach, Florida for the  Bowlegs Regatta where three clubs are using three Vipers to race some windward leewards. Then packed up again and heading to Gulfport YC, Mississippi.
