We now have a flyer to help promote the North American's this September!

Lightweight JPG version attached to this post

I'll have printed copies of this to hand out in Charleston for anyone who wants to post at their home club.

We also have a website up for the NA's: http://2012na.viper640.org

There is still work to be done to get all of the necessary content built out, but we wanted to get something live sooner rather than later.

Well done Fletcher!

In case you haven't heard, registration is LIVE for the 2012 North Americans in Marblehead. Link to registration is on the event site, www.2012na.viper640.org. There are already 35 Viper registered! I think 50 is a foregone conclusion... might we see 60??

Wednesday night, we'll have a party at the Rondar shop, so you can check out what we're building. Please try not to spill beer in the moulds (!).

Thursday night, dinner is included at the world reknown Maddie's Sail Loft in Marblehead, site of the legendary meeting where a few crazies decided that they would track down the Viper molds, find a builder, find all the boats, and relaunch a nearly dead class.

Other nights we'll have drinks and dinner and the Eastern YC.

We have some pretty awesome goodies to give away, thanks to our sponsors. EFG Bank, Bacardi and Rondar are helping to keep your entry fee more affordable.

Atlantis Weathergear is providing shirts AND foulies for the entire crew of the mid-fleet boat.

Evolution Sails, Doyle-Boston Sails and Ulman Sails are giving a jib, main and spinnaker respectively, for the last 3 place boats. WAY better that the pickle dishes the "serious" Viperers will be fighting for. Absolutely NO sandbagging!  ;)

Nailing down details with North, but I think we're going to do a cool promo with them.

The whole thing should be pretty epic. Oh yeah, there will be Viper racing too! 50-60 Vipers on one line? How many keelboat classes can do that? We'll be joining a pretty elite crowd with this event. You're not gonna want to miss this regatta! Sign up now.

Fletcher, perhaps a PDF version of the flyer?

Only way to guarantee no sandbagging for the sails is saying "last 3 boats who finish every race."  That's the Viper spirit.  If a couple of people are sandbagging, it'll be obvious, and if someone gets too cute, they risk getting TLEd and not being eligible.  News is on the front page otherwise.

Dang it all!

What a sweet advertisment Fletch made!

Wish us AZ boats could make it...

Good luck to ya'll!

P.S. Dan - you know...

Greg: is it just a transport issue to get you guys there?  How much would west coast boats be willing to pay to make the trip east?  We're trying to investigate mass boat transport options to let everyone know what is involved going west to east, and to give ourselves a head start for 2013 and 2014 to determine appropriate east to west options.

Peter,

For me our economy is now holding me back, I won't/can't compete in any travelling regattas until $ starts coming in again.

I will get with the other AZ owners and see what they think about the idea of transportation costs to the east coast...
