correction..ocean freight insurance turns out to be extra. Total bill came to $118. I think it is still reasonable.

It's looking like my boat's going to be in Bermuda in short order--now I have another question for people...  How does the return shipment work?  I'm shipping my boat on to Fernandina Beach, FL and I would like to find a uship person to drive it from there to Sarasota.  I assume I need to find some kind of freight forwarder to make this happen for me remotely... Has anyone started working through this?

Thanks in advance, see ya'll in a month or so,

Cole

My insurance is thru Arthur J Gallagher and after answering a lot of questions they were able to add the ocean freight for $CDN250 to my policy.

Gowrie wont cover roll on/roll off shipping. Checking on alternatives

I have Gowrie Group Insurance.  I added on sailing in Bermuda for $95 for the year but as others have stated it does not cover shipping.  I just got a quote today for shipping insurance from Voigt Maritime for $398 one way for a stated value of $30,000 (2015 boat) out of Salem NJ.  There has to be a better way.  I friend of mine who is a harbor pilot said you really need insurance because in some extreme situations, you could be liable for significantly more than the value of your boat.  However, spending nearly $800 for 6 days of insurance is a little hard to take.  Any ideas?
