Trying to guage the interest in keeping this a well attended regatta.  Who has interest in coming and or coming back in 2013?  It seems to conflict with a Feb Miami event in 2013.

Just another tidbit of info which might be useful . The Gulf fleet has some great ambassadors.

I attended a conference call debrief with EFG on Monday.
The Gulf boats that attended MGRW and then came on to the Bacardi were noticed and it sent a really good message about including MGRW in the regional round of the Pan Am circuit.  Its completely smoothed things over, so much so that there is tons of support for MGRW from that quarter. If the Gulf fleet decides to select MGRW as your Gulf Coast Championship in 2013 then I believe there is some money there for a nice perpetual trophy.  Rather there is support for a perpetual for for your regional championship whereever you choose to hold it.  (One of your teams came up and said thanks from the gulf fleet to the EFG execs, it was really appreciated.)

Speaking as a competitor. I really enjoyed sailing with and against Debbie and Craig (all family team) and the same for Last Call. I came away wanting to do all I could do to help the Gulf and Texas fleets grow and gain traction.  All y'all  great fun to sail with.

MGRW is definitely on the cards for next year. I sort of count the Miami regattas as home regattas for me so MGRW would be my winter travel regatta.

matt, i thought you were in favor of a mid-feb miami event.   That would be the same weekend as MGRW 2013 and unless you clone yourself, you cant do both ;-)

We will make the return trip to MGRW as long as it continues to draw boats. We had a great time from what I can piece together:) Besides its 8 hours closer than Miami for me!

Touch of Grey has reservations already for next year!
We can only improve our position in the fleet. . .

Dam! Didn't bank on MGRW having date conflicts.

Team FNG will be there! Spin halyard will be replaced BEFORE regatta, not during race 6 like this year ;-) Then we'll head to Miami...

Damn Jim you were still pretty fast even with the spin in the water!  Glad to hear that many people will be returning.  I will try to work with the host club to make improvements.

What do ya think Matt?  MGRW and then down to Miami for a week-long bacardi event?

MGRW -> Bacardi -> Charleston

3 months,  events, 30 plus boat fleet at each? (maybe a 50 boat fleet at Charleston)

Tom and Sears - maybe we'll toss your boat's on my triple-stack for the trip.

Is there any way we can convince the boats who were considering the Feb 12 Miami event to join us in New Orleans instead?  Justin, that means you have to show up  - not just register ;-)

In 2013 when MGRW conflicts with Miami, we can our influence to have them move this event back into Feb where there's no issue, and do it all again!

@ Lee - i've swapped a few emails with the organizers giving them my .02.    Kevin Blake (noticably absent at this years' regatta) is also talking to them.  But for MGRW to be a success in my eyes it needs the support of local boats - you guys, kevin, Craig.

If the first event for the Miami series is moved to december the I am in for MGRW. If there is a local regatta it seems a bit pointless driving 10hrs away from one in my back yard.

Probably for the best, two days in new orleans with last call and the texas fleet would be bad enough.   Four days and the right coast may never see you again.

remember, always check under the hood before getting behind the wheel

Jeff - I would not turn down the triple stack...a boat from each corner of the country... I'm in!
