Title : A message for our out-of-towner Regatta guests

? by Arno Marcuse,  AYC 2009 Regatta Chairman

The Arizona Yacht Club regatta memories would not be fulfilled if not for our guest racers that come from all parts of the country. Whether its Long Island, Wyoming, San Francisco, New Mexico or Texas your attendance is a big part of our fun weekend of sailing.  Turmoil of economic times seems to be getting behind us. Gas prices are coming down giving us all more budget to tow our boats to far off events.  Getting to sail in Arizona in January has been enjoyed by you and many others for which we are hoping of your return in 2009. Here are a few ways to save money while attending our event.

Stay at the Marina for the weekend. Camp Sites and TENT & RV hook up sites available

Rent a Camper Trailer with electrical hook up.  Average prices for a sleep 4 ? 6 can be less than $100 per person for the weekend. Call ahead to reserve an RV Hook Up at Lake Pleasant. 1-800-475-3272 www.pleasantharbor.com

Buy our meals. Cheaper than going out!

Call ahead for local hotel/motel reservations. January is our busy visitor season in Arizona.

Top off your fuel outside of town

The Leukemia Cup Race Entry is a Tax-Deductible contribution.

And most importantly, check your trailer for good & safe operating condition.

For Arizona road closure and conditions go to http://www.az511.com

If you need help in locating hotels and other accommodations information check www.arizonayachtclub.org or feel free to send us a memo.

Thanks to all who have entered, especially the out of towners!

Four from Arizona (one from Tucson), one from Long Beach and one from San Fransico. Six vippers!

I think that this officially makes this the largest western regatta so far...

San Diego NOOD's are the next stop. Let's make that regatta even larger!

Thanks all for playing,

Greg

Thanks to the AZ fleet for SUCH a warm welcome and thorough education on the Viper. We had a ball.

Just another example why the Viper is the best boat in it's segment....high quality competition in a fun and friendly fleet.

We'll be back!
