Juniors in Vipers

On November 10th the Hampton Yacht Club Viper Fleet had Junior Day.  Our Sailing Director Arielle Darrow organized the event.  We got 16 kids from 6th grade through 11th to come out sailing on a cool windy November day.  Four juniors plus one owner in each boat worked well. After blasting around Hampton Flats for a while we had 3 - two lap W/L races with the juniors at the helm.  Fun was had by all.  See attached photos.

Nice work Mark.  There are now two junior Vipers in Long Island Sound - both donated, one to New England Science and Sailing Foundation in Stonington, CT, and the other to Young American Sailing Academy in Rye, NY.  Plus the GYA has their Youth Champs in Vipers now.  Looking forward to seeing a lot more juniors on the racecourse at Class events soon.  No excuses for any owners who ever claim to be short on crew.
