Title: aft mainsheet option
Post by: Peter Broszkowski on October 08, 2014, 09:20:19 AM
any opinion if  the setup in the picture would be legal.? it is a slight variation of D option where  it combines the split sheet and the bridle into one.. picture taken on a Melges 20

Peter - this one is not legal.  It's an old Viper configuration that we moved away from.  A downside is that the bridle height had to be adjusted out on the water as the breeze velocity changed for best effectiveness.  Aft split tail and aft bridle will get better centering and the bridle height is less critical due to the split tail.
