Racing July 16-17 and July 23-24.  July 16-17 counts toward the WLIS Championship Circuit.  July 24 will be a one-race day around Execution Rocks and back, same starting line as all of the PHRF boats, 7-mile sprint - if you win the entire thing, there's a cool perpetual trophy in it, and if you happen to be the elapsed time record (set in 2015 by a Gunboat 62, though there's a lot of softness in that record), you get a case of Mt. Gay Rum.  Storage available at LYC in between the two weekends and probably even the weekend before for teams who want to come in July 2-3 for the American YC Independence Day Regatta.  Plus the usual red hats, Mt. Gay Rum day on Sunday the 17th post racing, post race ice cream, etc.  20+ Vipers on the line for this each of the past 3 years.  http://www.yachtscoring.com/emenu.cfm?eID=2808

A solid final weekend of Race Week with 4 races to make up for a difficult first weekend.  Saturday saw 10-15 kts from the WSW and planing conditions for Vipers for 3 races.  Sunday was the single race Around Execution Rocks.  Ghost Panda had a great day on Saturday to win all 3 races (some debrief notes below), but the weekend's big winner was Bob McHugh, sailing with daughter Kerri and son-in-law Scott who nailed the giant left shift on the extended beat to round G23 with a massive lead and never looked back, beating the Gunboat 60 boat-for-boat across the finish line and correcting out 3 minutes in front of the next boat, which happened to be...another Viper in the 30-boat fleet (Sizzler, with Andy Kaplan, Dan Ronan and Ben Cesare).  It was quite the scene and there were a lot of annoyed offshore racers watching the Vipers sail circles around them.  Probably didn't do ourselves any favors if and when anyone wants to challenge our PHRF rating.  Bob won the perpetual trophy for best corrected time in the race, which I believe is Bob's first ever Viper trophy, so congratulations to US 252.  Full results are posted at http://www.yachtscoring.com/event_results_cumulative.cfm?eID=2808
