Hey,

I need to order the correct Sailboat Rigging Tension Gauge for use on the Viper. What size is our rigging?

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, Most of the tuning guide numbers refer to the Loos PT-1

That said, has anyone used the new Spinlock toy??

Until I read your question I did not even know about it. But I am working on getting my hands on one so that Brad and I can start to use it and compare to the Loos and the Harken gauge that I have. Will keep you posted.

I bought the Loos PT-1 from Amazon.com, seems to work just fine. Almost $100....ouch

I have one sitting on the bottom of Long Island Sound somewhere. I am thinking of replacing it with the Spinlock.

hahaha, No it likely does not float. You just need to be smarter than the tension gauge, which I failed at.

Loos gauge overboard is not nearly as painful as was dropping a dual display for a KVH Sailcomp back in the J/24 days. $400 or was it $400 per display? I can't quite remember, I must have blocked it out. Painful blow to the wallet at the time as a young, poor, recent college grad sailor.
