Here are the dates asked -

Chicago NOOD - June 17-19
Chicago Verve Cup - August 27-28

BOD is most likely June 3-5 which is the weekend after Memorial Day.

Later,

Ed

Ed, great information, thanks for posting.  I am all for going back to Chicago this year.  I think we have been the last 3 years.  I have 2 concerns when choosing a Chicago event that I'd like to share.  1) Hoisting/Launching - Neither Chicago or Columbia YC have a ramp or a hoist.  Where would we sail out of?  I don't want to relive my 2014 experience.  This might not be an issue if we aren't sailing out of the City front. 2) Price - Noods have typically been expensive to go to, I think it was $200 last year in Chicago.  I'm not sure the cost on Verve cup though, this might not be an issue depending on its price.

Black Sheep is shooting for BOD's, Chicago, Sarnia, Ottawa, and Lake Champlain.

If there is an event in Toronto or a second event in Michigan we'd be interested in that too.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Chicago YC has hoists at the Belmont location.

I should be able to attend Sarina, Verve and 4th event depending on date.  I can not attend BOD or CYC Nood.

Settle on a schedule and email Buttons Padin said schedule - as Class Admin he will post and/or work with class webmaster Fletcher Boland to post.

Hello all, I am looking for some input on which weekend might best suit our schedule in August for a regatta at the Kingston Yacht Club. Currently we have a choice of either August 20 - 21, 2016 or the following weekend August 27 - 28, 2016. if one weekend is better than the other please let me know we will be booking it next week, with further event details to come.

August 27-28 is Viper New Englands in Marblehead, so if you want boats from New York/New England, better to make it Aug. 20-21.  That said, pick whatever weekend makes the most sense for GL boats.

I think the ongoing scheduling strategy for our grass-roots fleet is to avoid overlapping weekends in overlapping regions. In slower months you could even put an off-week in-between.

Personally, I love racing in Kingston and Marblehead, and they are each an easy drive from Vermont. ;)

I Vote for Aug 20-21 weekend.  Kingston is a great place to go viper sailing.  We should get a good turnout!

Thanks for the input folks, we will work on the 20-21, it will be a fun weekend on the water there will be lots going on with CORK. We will be sailing directly out of KYC it is much more intimate than Portsmouth. Hopefully it work out and we can make it an annual event in Kingston.
Marblehead is one of my favourite spots to sail as well so maybe some GL boats could make it there as well.
