PNW Tulip Reatta
« on: May 02, 2015, 12:22:26 PM »
The PNW Viper Fleet kicked off the season with 6 boats on the line in Anacortes Wa for the annual Tulip Regatta. Great regatta with some great people! With 9 races sailed over the weekend, the Viper sailors got their moneys worth! Attached is a picture of some of the group relaxing at the "snake pit" with well deserved "Cuba Libre" Viper style, complements of one of the Gluecksman's who happen to be one of the Canadian contingents.
Racing was close all around the course with several lead changes and close mark roundings on every race. The weekend saw a little of everything, ending with breeze on conditions in the last race, registering gusts in the upper 20's. New to the Viper, but definitely not new to sailing, Colin Orsini and crew sailed a clean regatta, most importantly in the last race and came out on top for the weekend.
